Two Decades of Excellence and Growth


Ambientia was founded in 1996 in Hämeenlinna. Since then, the company has embarked on a journey of steady growth and expansion. Today, Ambientia boasts a workforce of around 230 dedicated professionals and generates approximately 30 million euros in revenue with offices strategically spread across Finland in Hämeenlinna, Helsinki, Turku, Joensuu, Tampere, and Kuopio.
But the growth story doesn't stop within Finnish borders. In 2020 Ambientia ventured into international waters when after a long-standing partnership Ambientia became a part owner of Shero Commerce. Located in the United States, Shero Commerce focuses on both B2B and B2C eCommerce solutions, working in close collaboration with Ambientia's eCommerce team in Finland with a joint ambition to grow together in European and US markets. Together, they continue to navigate the complex landscape of business, design, and technology, offering cutting-edge solutions to clients and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the digital age.


Sami Pippuri, Business Director responsible for public business and sales at Ambientia, has been an integral part of the company for over two decades, witnessing and contributing to its remarkable evolution. As a member of Ambientia's executive team, Sami plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic direction and ensuring its continued success. His leadership extends beyond Ambientia, as he also serves as an advisory board member at the HUS Cooperation Advisory Board since 2022. Additionally, Sami represents the Nordic region on the Liferay Partner Advisory Board, further solidifying Ambientia's presence on the international stage.

They aim to achieve an annual revenue of 50 million euros and expand their workforce to include 500 Ambientians within the next two years. Growth plans include scaling up existing business operations as well as business acquisitions, allowing Ambientia to broaden their reach and expertise further. 

Ambientia's journey in Joensuu spans over two decades of active participation in the local business landscape. In 2003 Ambientia started cooperation with Codezilla Oy, a Joensuu based company located at Science Park. Two years later the company merged with Ambientia and the Ambientia Joensuu office was born. While having considered other options a couple of times over the years, the company has remained rooted at the Science Park in Joensuu. The decision to stay in this location owes much to its strategic advantages and employee satisfaction.

The Business Park's central and accessible location as well as services from parking and restaurants to gyms benefits both employees and clients alike.
