A new event series, Startup Afterwork, is launching in Joensuu, bringing together startup founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, students, and anyone interested in the startup world on a monthly basis.
The initiative is based on a clear message from the local community: there is a need for more relaxed, low-threshold opportunities to meet people, exchange ideas, and gain new perspectives without a formal agenda. Startup Afterwork is designed to meet this need.
The first event will take place on May 7th at 18:00 at Hub Joensuu. The kickoff event will focus on a timely startup seed funding opportunity, presented by Kari Pulkkinen, Fund Manager & Growth Coach at Business Joensuu, and Mikael Myllymäki, Venture Capitalist at Redstone.
The goal of the event is to bring together a diverse group of startup ecosystem participants – from early-stage idea builders to experienced entrepreneurs, scaleup founders, and those who have already made an exit. The event is also open to anyone curious about the startup world and still exploring their own path.
There is no strict agenda at Startup Afterwork. The focus is on meaningful conversations, new connections, and a strong sense of community. Going forward, each event will include light thematic elements to spark discussion.
