The Finnish company Kelluu Oy, specializing in environmental data collection with airships, is one of 75 companies chosen for NATO's DIANA Programme for 2025. Out of more than 2,600 applications, only three companies from Finland were selected.

The Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) aims to discover new technological solutions for defense and security through collaboration with companies. The programme is designed for startups and SMEs developing dual-use technologies - products or services that support both defense and civilian markets. DIANA provides resources, networks, and support from experts and investors to aid in development.

“This is a major step forward for us,” says Kelluu CEO Janne Hietala. “With NATO’s support, we can push our technology further alongside professionals who demand the best. A changing world needs companies like Kelluu to enhance both security and societies, and this collaboration with NATO is a great example."

In the DIANA programme, Kelluu focuses on developing sensing and surveillance solutions. Various sensors and monitoring devices can be attached to Kelluu’s airships, enabling precise real-time monitoring and analysis of large areas to support decisionmaking. Kelluu's advantages include continuous airborne operation, silent functionality, performance in GPS-denied environments, the ability to operate below the clouds, and excellent capabilities in Arctic conditions.

About Kelluu:
Kelluu collects the world’s most accurate environmental data using autonomous and emission-free airships, offering a more cost-egective and faster solution for large-scale data delivery compared to traditional methods. The company operates the world’s northernmost airship factory in Finland and has the world’s largest airship fleet. Kelluu employs 40 people.
